Shareholder Michael D. Kendall Wins Workers’ Compensation Case

by | Sep 14, 2018 | Announcement

Marks Gray, P.A. shareholder and the chair of the workers’ compensation department,  Michael D. Kendall,  received a judgment in favor of his client, a local hospital.  The hospital employee was involved in a work-related incident and the employer provided the employee with appropriate medical treatment related to the incident.  The employee subsequently sought additional benefits for medical conditions that the employer believed were unrelated to the work accident.  The employer denied the additional benefits and the case went to a trial before the Judge of Compensation Claims.  The Judge agreed that the requested benefits were not causally related to the work accident and found that no additional benefits were due and all issues raised by the claimant were presumed resolved, denied and dismissed with prejudice.

Mr. Kendall’s practice focuses on representing insurance carriers and employers in Workers’ Compensation matters. He represents insurance companies, hospitals, government entities, and individuals in all aspects of civil litigation, including medical malpractice defense litigation.

Mr. Kendall attended the University of Southern Indiana where he received his B.S. in Psychology (1997) and received his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from the University of Dayton School of Law. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2000 and is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association, Jacksonville Association of Defense Counsel, and Federal Bar of the Middle District of Florida.
