Marks Gray Shareholders Jep Barbour and Ed Birk recently participated in a civil hearing at the First Coastal School of Law, presided over by U.S. District Judge Timothy Corrigan. Our attorneys served as local counsel for the defendants in a civil hearing on cross motions for summary judgment in U.S. vs Franck’s Lab Inc. , an enforcement action against our client Franck’s by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Marks Gray attorneys worked with Judge Corrigan and his staff to ensure the success of this off-site oral argument , which Judge Corrigan described as the first time the U.S. District Court has traveled to a remote location for a court session. It was a learning experience for all involved and provided a unique opportunity to observe and participate in a real case outside of the courthouse setting. The hearing was followed by a question and answer session for law students , which was sponsored by the Jacksonville Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
