Allison Hunnicutt Hauser focuses her practice in the areas of workers’ compensation and employment law. Ms. Hauser aggressively defends employers and carriers throughout the state and at the appellate level. Ms. Hauser also advises local and national self and market-insured employers, their carriers and third party servicing agents regarding ADA, FMLA, and FLSA issues, third party liens, and medical management of cases.
Ms. Hauser presented oral argument in May of 2008 in Punsky v. Clay County/Scibal Associates, 18 So. 3d 577 (Fla. 1st DCA 2009). In an en banc decision issued by the First District Court of Appeal on February 27, 2009, the appellate court reversed the court‘s initial panel decision and upheld the trial court ruling denying benefits in this Heart Lung Act case. Ms. Hauser also presented oral argument before the Supreme Court of the State of Florida on behalf of the Respondents in Lee v. City of Jacksonville, 616 So. 2d 37 (Fla. 1993), and the Respondents ultimately prevailed. In September of 2004, the First District Court of Appeal affirmed the decision of the Judge of Compensation Claims rendered in favor of the Employer in Galaida v. AutoZone, Inc., 882 So. 2d 1111 (Fla. 1st DCA 2004).
Ms. Hauser is admitted to practice in Florida and Texas. She is a member of several legal, professional and community organizations, including the Florida, Jacksonville, Texas and Jacksonville Bar Associations. She is an alumni of the Chester Bedell Inn of Court. She is a past chair, vice-chair and committee member of the Florida Bar Workers’ Compensation Rules Advisory Committee, on which she served for 10 years. Ms. Hauser is AV® Peer Review Rated, the highest rating possible by her peers through Martindale-Hubbell. In June of 2007, Ms. Hauser was named a Master of the Bench with the E. Robert Williams Inn of Court, Jacksonville Chapter, for which she served as Treasurer in 2007-2008, Vice President in 2009-2010 and now President in 2010-2011. In July of 2010, Ms. Hauser received a Pro Bono Honor Roll Bronze Award from the Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, Inc., for pro bono legal services. She is a member of Meninak and served on the Membership Committee in 2003.
Ms. Hauser has written articles on various aspects of workers’ compensation law and has spoken on various workers’ compensation issues to multiple organizations and community groups. She was named to the 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Super Lawyers lists. Only 5% of the lawyers in Florida earn the Super Lawyers honor. Ms. Hauser was also named to the 2009 Florida Trend Magazine’s Florida Legal Elite list (she was one of only six Workers’ Compensation attorneys listed in the state of Florida). This list represents less than 2% of practicing Florida Bar members in Florida.
Allison lives at the beach and enjoys spending time there with her husband, Ted and their Dalmatian, Atticus, and their newly adopted cat, Miss Cleo.
